The Walls Of The Temple Are Made Of Sound

The Walls Of The Temple Are Made Of Sound de Rempis / Abrams / Ra + Baker a fost lansat pe 30.10.2026.

Rempis / Abrams / Ra + Baker lansează albumul ‘The Walls Of The Temple Are Made Of Sound’, o captură live din 2025. Albumul explorează intensitatea și nuanțele muzicii jazz contemporane.

The album captures a live performance recorded in December 2025 at The Hungry Brain, celebrating the venue’s 25 years of presenting creative music. The first track, ‘Episodic,’ is a 45-minute improvisation showcasing the quartet’s dynamic interplay. The second track, ‘Eso/Exo,’ features a blend of intensity and atmospheric textures, while the final track, ‘Teric,’ is a 48-minute piece that incorporates cosmic elements reminiscent of Sun Ra’s Arkestra.

The quartet consists of saxophonist Dave Rempis, pianist Jim Baker, bassist Joshua Abrams, and drummer Avreeayl Ra. Their music is characterized by a balance of brute force and intricate detail, allowing for both powerful and subtle moments throughout the performance.

This release marks the group’s fifth since 2016, following their previous album ‘Scylla’ from 2022. The title pays homage to the late saxophonist Fred Anderson and the legacy of adventurous music in Chicago.
